“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.”
Grateful to God & Thankful for You
With the Thanksgiving holiday upon us, we are called to take stock of our blessings received throughout the year. Every Sister in our religious community is deeply grateful for the support of our families, friends, associates, alumnae and benefactors. We have been blessed by the relationships we have forged with you over these many years in ministry. It is our collective hope that Thanksgiving and the coming Christmas Season find you surrounded by those you love, enriched by your faith, and wrapped in God’s blessings. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones.
Sister Pat Marie Buranosky
It is known that the most important prayer is one of Gratitude. The holiday of Thanksgiving reminds us, once again, to be grateful. As I ponder my life of 90 years, I have so very much to be grateful for. Life itself! Thank you, God. For my family rooted in the belief of a Loving and benevolent God ... thank you! For my vocation ... why me, God? But, thank you, especially for my Sisters. So many people in a long life of Ministry who have touched me deeply and helped me to grow ... thank you, God. All the life experiences in 73 years of working in His vineyard ... amazing God, I thank you.
Sister Roselyn Kuzma
This past year has been a very hard year for my family. Yes, there were joys that we are grateful for, including marriages and a newborn. However, there were many sorrows. My older brother had a stroke and six relatives fell and suffered broken bones. The biggest sorrow was when my great nephew Joshua, just 21, died in a motorcycle accident. He was a U.S. Marine and had a military funeral with about a dozen of his fellow Marines, family members and friends in attendance. Personally, I am grateful for all the love, prayers and support my family received from the Sisters, priests, staff and residents at Mt. Assisi Place. I know that they were felt and appreciated by my family.
Sister Marguerite Stewart
I am grateful for God’s great and unconditional love for me, my family and community, which is so evident each day. I am especially grateful this year for our religious community’s emphasis on seeing the needs of the poor and helping in whatever way we can.
Sister Barbara Ann Webster
In his book Ladder to the Light, author Steven Charleston acknowledges a simple truth: “If every bit of good you have done were a grain of sand, you would be standing on a beach.” I would like to change that to, “If every bit of good I have received were a grain of sand, I’d be standing on a beach.” I am blessed in so many ways for so many days.
Sister Teresa Misyak
I am grateful for our Sisters who continue to minister, regardless of their age or disability. I am grateful for the witness of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, who tirelessly served the poor, the aged, the sick, and the disabled.
