Simply Prayer: Share the Light

  • St. Francis Center at Monocacy Manor 395 Bridle Path Road Bethlehem, PA, 18017 United States (map)

Sister Marguerite

Spring is here! The darkness of winter has passed, and we look forward to the bright and sunny days of spring and summer. As darkness and light are a natural part of the seasons, so too, they are a part of our lives. We experience the darkness of war, violence, and suffering of many kinds. And we go through our personal darkness of sin and human weakness.

How we long for the light on those dark winter nights. We cannot do without light in our lives. Our belief in God is our chief source of light. He loves us, walks with us, answers our prayers. While God is our primary source of light, we experience light from other sources, as well — family, friends, coworkers, even chance acquaintances. Their many examples of love enrich our lives, and they encourage us to be the light to others.

The Church dedicates the month of May to Our Lady Mother of Jesus the Light of the World. As we gather with Sister Marguerite Stewart in prayer and sharing, we remember her beautiful life and ask for her intercession.
